Sherry Ladig is a musician and composer in Minnesota’s Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. A frequent performer of many styles of folk music including Traditional Irish (Dunquin), Scottish dance and concert performance (Dalwhinnie), mid-to-late 19th century American (The New Pearl Buttons), and Elite Rabble (music from the Georgian and Regency periods, including English Country Dance music and British naval music). Sherry performs Celtic and 19th-century historic music regularly in the Twin Cities. Dunquin, Dalwhinnie, and all Sherry’s bands are available for private or public events all around the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Contact Sherry to arrange a gig!
Also an active composer, Sherry is the composer-in-residence for the Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra and composes a wide range of works for all types of instrumental and choral ensembles. Sherry is the recipient of Irish Arts Minnesota’s Honors Award, bestowed upon one who has significantly contributed to the vibrancy and vigor of Irish cultural life in Minnesota. She received the award in 2024 for her original compositions and musical collaborations with traditional Irish musicians.

Join the New Pearl Buttons at our favorite historic site, the LeDuc Historic Estate, on Sunday September 11, for several appearances starting around 11:30 (I'll update when I get the precise times). We'll play the hits of the sixties--the 1860s, of course! Lots of great demonstrations, food, history pertaining to General LeDuc and his role in the Civil War! Event goes two days, we're just there Sunday. Check out Dakota County Historical Society for more information on all the activities. Modest admission to site. Family-friendly and great fun!
